The sourceforge page for squidge is now only listing version 1.4 tho the website for it states that it got to 1.7
He's now moved over to bifferboards and the pages says he's not interested in supporting squidge any more. So where does one download 1.7 from? I see from the forum that omnima supply 1.7 on USB with an embedded controller, however I want to get up to speed with the Edimax board I have already before buying the extra controllers I'm going to use around the house. Pretty hard to do without being able to get squidge 1.7 from anywhere! So, does anyone have a copy that they could please host somewhere for download? It's open source so I cannot see how there is any licensing problems or copyright to worry about. Just need to kick off this project which is currently stalling for me. Google-foo not working on finding a download anywhere else |

Hi Nominous,
Shorter answer: The OpenWrt Linux supports this board fully and it includes the most recent changes. We don't need to rely on the Squidge scripts anymore although our USB root FS flash stick is still being call Squidge. We'll review the naming if this is causing confusion. Squidge is a set of scripts used to retrieve OpenWrt files from the repository, configure the kernel to use the USB FS and then include as many packages as available onto the USB FS. The difficulty with the Squidge scripts was that OpenWrt changed often and that the scripts needed to be updated often. In fact, it is straightforward to manually configure OpenWrt in the same way as Squidge does. The updates to Squidge 1.4 and above where mainly made to keep up to date with the latest OpenWrt changes and there was no significant new functions being added as far as I'm aware. To configure OpenWrt to run on the Embedded Controller without using Squidge refer to this topic. If there is still need to use Squidge scripts they can be modified as described in this topic. Regards, Dean |

Thanks Dean. I'll check that out over the weekend.
I'm mainly interested in exercising some control over the GPIO. I'll be pinning out for the rest of the leads from the CPU once I've got a working solution. 1-wire, i2c, dmx, 485 interfaces are what I need for it. |
