This adapter can be used as a general purpose USB to UART (serial 3.3V) converter.
The adapter is based on a Silicon Labs CP2101 chip. The drivers are available for Windows and are also built into Linux 2.6 kernel and the OpenWRT port as standard.
The socket is designed to connect to the Omnima embedded controller board SKU16140 and can be used to reprogram it.
